Polina Raiko seeds

The heritage of the Ukrainian naïve artist Polina Raiko became widely known after the Russians blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station and destroying her house, where all walls were painted with the artist's drawings. However, we can talk about this heritage not through trauma, but through positive creativity, because this is exactly what Polina Raiko herself did – she created beauty through her own pain and loss.

This website is actually a map of existing and future artistic reflections on Polina Raiko's artwork. It demonstrates the influence of the artist's heritage on the cultural and artistic landscape of Ukraine and the world.

IDEAS AND SKETCHES

New ideas for the “diffusion” of Polina Raiko's heritage into different areas of art and creative industries, which we name “seeds”. Ideas generated by Ukrainian artists during workshops organized by the “Totem” Center for Cultural Development in March-April 2024.
